In awarding grant requests, Pablo Foundation’s Board of Directors will carefully review each application based on the following factors:

  1. Meets the Foundation’s vision, mission, and anti-discrimination policy.
  2. Meets the Foundation's commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion and its commitment to organizational and project-specific environmental sustainability.
  3. Is innovative, transformative, and either fulfills an existing gap or meets a new need concerning health, housing, education, and/or the arts in the greater Eau Claire area.
  4. Demonstrates a need for funding along with the significance of the impact in the greater Eau Claire area, including the number of people from varying backgrounds that will benefit and the longevity of the impact.
  5. Illustrates financial sustainability of the project with strong economic projections.
  6. Receives multiple sources of support, both public and private.
  7. Secures strong partnerships with local government entities and other nonprofit organizations to meet the requesting organization’s goals. 
  8. Explains how the organization’s services complement or differ from other similar services provided in the area. 
  9. Has fulfilled all obligations to submit Progress Reports for previously awarded grants in a timely manner, highlighting measurable impact in the greater Eau Claire area consistent with Pablo Foundation’s mission and commitments.
  10. Has not been awarded a Pablo Foundation grant within the past 12 months OR showcases how the current request is vastly different from the grant awarded within the past 12 months.

Pablo’s Business Directed Giving (BDG) is a program through which Pablo Foundation sponsors or makes donations to local nonprofit organizations but at the request and recommendation of Pablo Group’s Care Committee. Based on the high volume of requests we receive, BDG grant recipients should wait a minimum of 9 months before making another submission. Eligible local Eau Claire area non-profit organizations with an active 501(c)(3) designation interested in being considered for a BDG grant should fill out the application and will be contacted regarding their request.

To be eligible, an organization must:

  1. Serve the greater Eau Claire area,
  2. Meet the Foundation’s vision, mission, and anti-discrimination policy,
  3. Meet the Foundation's commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion and its commitment to organizational and project-specific environmental sustainability,
  4. Have an active 501(c)(3) designation, AND
  5. Be currently registered as a Charitable Organization with the WI Department of Financial Institutions (and therefore authorized to solicit funding in the State of Wisconsin).
